Alain Berteau

Interior design

Since 2002, architect/designer Alain Berteau works for leading brands such as BULO, ABV, MONTIS, RVB, WILDSPIRIT, DELVAUX, DAIMLER, OBJEKTEN SYSTEMS (which he co-founded), among many others. His Brussels-based agency develops products, creative strategies, interior designs and buildings. Alain is the Creative Director of ABV (acoustic solutions), RVB (faucets) and OBJEKTEN (furniture).

He teaches product design at CAD (College of Advertising and Design), and was a design professor at LA CAMBRE school of Arts from 2003 to 2013.

Awarded "Designer of the year" in 2006 at the Interieur Kortrijk Biennale, he won numerous international design awards such as IF or Red Dot.

His work is now part of the permanent collection of the Design Museum in Ghent. He refurbished the Belgian artist residencies of the Isola Comacina on the Como lake in Italy, and was the curator for the design events of this institution until 2014.

His work is recognized for simple but decisive functional innovation, eco-friendly solutions and versatile convenience.
